FLORA
The variety of flora are all representatives of the Montano rainforest. There are around 2000 endemic species:
- Orchid, bromeliads, heliconias, etc.
- Wood, cedar, aliso, canelo, motilon, etc.
- Medicinals kala huala, punta de lanza, cola de caballo, trinitaria, verbena, hierva mora, etc.

FAUNA
There are 50 endemic species of birds. In the area exists the highest number of colibries of the world. In the rain forest are registered 32 types of colibries. In the province of Pichincha are more than 800 species of birds (more than half than are registered in Ecuador , 1600 species)
- Mammiferous, puma, gazelle, small tiger (tigrillo) badgers, skunk, armadillo, wearing glasses bear, long beard toucan, called Yumbo, etc.
- Birds, mountain turkey, colibries, rust of the hill , swift black- martin.
- Amphibious, insects, invertebrates, etc. which play a very important roll within the ecosystem,
